ISLAMABAD, Aug. 30,2004 (Xinhuanet) -- Three policemen were killed in Pakistan's southwestern Balochistan province on Monday when gunmen riding on two motorcycles attacked their vehicle.
The attack took place at Dera Murad Jamali, about 350 kilometers southeast of Quetta, the provincial capital, state-run Pakistan TV reported.
The attackers used rifles and rockets to target the vehicle. There was no official word as to who were the assailants.
Dera Murad Jamali is the home town of former Prime Minister Zafarullah Khan Jamali, who resigned in late June.
Balochistan has seen several attacks against military and paramilitary forces in the past months. Some nationalist groups are opposing a government plan to establish military cantonments in different parts of the province.
